When you gotta go, you gotta go!

When I lived and worked on Mackinac Island, I answered this one question several times every single day- Where can I find a public restroom? It got me thinking that there really weren't many restrooms accessible to the public. There is one at the visitor's center and one in the courtyard by the Carriage Tours as well as one near the docks, but those close daily. So, if you're out later and need to know where to go, I've gotcha covered!

Every sit-down restaurant has a bathroom, but you can generally only use those when you’re dining in. Here is a simple list of all the other places to find a single stall restroom

Moomer's/ Good Day Cafe- This is my favorite place on the island. They have a peanut butter oreo ice cream and apple danishes that are TO DIE FOR.

Island Slice Pizza- This is a great option if you're on a budget- although I wouldn't recommend Mackinac Island in general if you're on a budget. Everything is very expensive. But the $10 pizza deal is great. It comes with one large slice of pizza, a breadstick and a fountain drink.

Mighty Macs- A quick spot to stop for lunch.

Murray Hotel- you'll know you're in the right place if you see a woman outside offering samples of Mexican Food. She is the sweetest, so stop and chat with her if you have the chance!

Boxwood Cafe- You'll have to walk the farthest for this one, but if you're out by Mission Point then this bathroom is worth it. It's quiet. Clean. The toilet paper is super soft. And there's rarely anyone waiting in line because it's not on the main street. If you're hungry, hop in here for a chocolate muffin.
